We are proud to honor those that have exemplified health and safety at the workplace and beyond Not everyone nominated could receive an award, but we are gratified to know that so many every day safety heroes are out there.
The Mine Safety and Health Conference is pleased to announce that the conference will be accepting applications for the Mine Safety and Health Awards in the following categories:
Manager of the Year Award: The award is open to Plant/Mine Manager’s who have displayed outstanding safety practices in their operations.
Safety Horizon Award: The award is open to professionals with 10 years or less in the safety field who are outstanding safety professionals among their peers.
The Distinguished Safety Professional: The award is open to those who have given 10 years or more in the safety field and who have contributed to creating, enhancing and improving the safety culture overall.
The Lifesaver Award: This award is for a person or group of persons who performed a life-saving action of person or persons in distress or whose actions were of honorable merit.
The ERT Award: The Mine Rescue Excellence Award recognizes teams that demonstrate exceptional courage, skill, and commitment during emergency response situations. This award honors mine rescue teams that go above and beyond standard expectations to protect lives, stabilize hazardous conditions, and support safe recovery operations.

This recognition celebrates those who embody the highest standards of mine rescue, demonstrating not only technical excellence but also unwavering dedication to the safety and well-being of others.
The Mine Safety and Health Conference Committee – Events/Awards Subcommittee will review all award nominations. Company names will remain anonymous during the review process, and committee members will not evaluate nominations from their own company. Award recipients will be selected based on the established criteria and notified by the Conference Committee Chair
no later than October 1, 2026.
Awards will be presented at the Grand Sierra Resort on Tuesday, October 27, 2026,
by the Mine Safety and Health Conference Committee Chair.
Considerations for individuals or teams who consistently demonstrate one or more of the following:
